By Sarah Peterson Washington, D.C.-At a press event at the Capitol Building on Tuesday, February 23, 2010, Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA), House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD-5) and Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-5) joined the leadership of the Justice For All Action Network (JFAAN) in kicking off the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. President Obama revived healthcare reform with a proposal, including provisions to benefit people with disabilities and promote independent community living, the White House released on Feb. 22. A meeting between Obama and leaders of both parties will air live on the Web Thursday, Feb. 25.

In a move that has even the most experienced political pundits scratching their heads, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) removed Medicare provisions from the bipartisan negotiated jobs bill that was released last week.
