The recent healthcare reform legislation is supposed to put an end to lifetime caps on health insurance benefits beginning in September of this year but health insurance companies are alleging a loophole that they believe allows them to continue the caps for up to another year.

Just taking a break from the ongoing battle to thank all of the activists out there who helped move the health care reform issue along. Medicare recipients will continue to receive critical outpatient therapy without fear of having to pay out-of-pocket costs.
Some good news! Following up from a previous ruling, a Federal District Court Judge in New York ruled that up to 4,300 people must be allowed to live and participate in the community.

Some exciting news broke earlier this month concerning stem cell research for people with spinal cord injuries and disorders. The first clinical trial in the US is taking place to see if it is safe to inject stem cells into the spinal cord. This is just the first step in what could become a series of successful clinical trials.
