In a big win for community-based services, the U.S. District Court in Jacksonville, Florida recently ruled that the state of Florida must provide home- and community-based services for a woman who has been on the Medicaid waiting list for over two years. 
Would you be willing to pay $6.35 per year to enable people living with disabilities, seniors, and maybe yourself one day, to live at home rather than in an institution? If so, you’re in good company. Millions of other Americans agree.
It’s about time the federal government recognizes that people with disabilities need access to more affordable housing if they are to move from institutional care to community based settings.
Some good news! Following up from a previous ruling, a Federal District Court Judge in New York ruled that up to 4,300 people must be allowed to live and participate in the community.
